On the heels of his roots-inspired June 2nd release "Secret, Profane & Sugarcane," the legendary Elvis Costello, joined by singer/songwriter Jim Lauderdale, will play a free show in San Francisco next week Monday (6/22) at, of all places, Amoeba (12pm). Costello will stick around for an album signing after the in-store performance—free silk-screened posters for anyone who buys the new album!—before heading south to play an 8pm show at Amoeba in Hollywood.
If you're not among the growing ranks of San Francisco's funemployed, it's a great excuse to take an extended work lunch! But if you can't make the lunch date with Elvis, Amoeba plans to stream the LA show online. It will almost be the same thing. Almost.
