Just 150 miles south of San Francisco is the unrivaled Big Sur coastline, along Highway 1. Go for sights of exploding wildflowers and California condors soaring overhead, and a chance to sink into a slowed-down way of life for the weekend. The area offers good eats with great views of the coastline and hiking at lots of different state parks and reserves.
