This is our weekly guest-blog post from the moms behind Red Tricycle, a site that focuses on the "lighter side" of parenting. Every week, they'll be bringing us their picks of stuff to do around the Bay Area with kids.
San Francisco Pride Week is officially in full swing and come this weekend our already colorful city will be transformed into an even more festive display celebrating the history of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer dignity. The 2012 theme of the 42nd Annual SF Pride Celebration and Parade (it's the largest LGBT gathering in the nation) is "Global Equality." While some events this weekend are just for the grown-ups, the Bay Area LGBT community definitely is keeping the families in mind. From creating Rainbow crafts to a family garden with face painting and games, there are plenty of fun family activities where you can proudly show your kiddos what Pride is all about.
