La Boutique, L'Art et La Mode in Jackson Square has a lot more going on than just shopping. The gorgeous space at 414 Jackson Street is launching a new photography show by Ricky Opaterny with an opening reception on Thursday, September 4 from 6 to 8pm. Opaterny takes a refreshing look at fashion week in his black and white digital photography by focusing not on what fashion insiders are wearing, but on the mood and emotion surrounding the event. You'll see street style stars including Carine Roitfeld, Garance Dore, Miroslava Duma, and many more in a more personal light than ever before. RSVP here.

Speaking of photography, Leica has opened up a beautiful store downtown at 463 Bush Street. Stop by to check out the space's first exhibit: French Kiss, A Love Letter to Paris, by Peter Turnley. After 15 years in Hayes Valley, a rent hike has forced the African Outlet to move. The owners are reopening at 4942 3rd Street in Bayview in late September, along with an Africal cultural center with a performance space and gallery.  

Up north in Healdsburg, the Mercantile Shop is shutting its doors for good after this coming weekend. Shop their final hours Thursday through Sunday 11am until 5pm.
