Pop-up dinners are a great way to taste dishes that really come from someone’s heart and heritage. (Or, in the case of Burger at Buffalo Club, the opportunity to just enjoy an extremely kickass burger.) Here are four new pop-ups for your culinary consideration.
You’ve heard about the utterly bonkers double-patty cheeseburger at Causwells in the Marina, right? Well, evil genius chef Adam Rosenblum and Causwells partner Alvin Garcia have decided to share the love citywide, and are now doing a burger pop-up on Monday nights at Buffalo Club in the Mission (5pm–1am), so you can check it out for yourself. You can get single ($6) or double-patty burgers ($8), plus fries (regular and duck fat), and shakes too. Also: cocktails, since it is, after all, a bar. Yay. Your Monday just improved, trust. 2331 Mission

Junju at Hog & Rocks
Chef Robin Song of Hog & Rocks is back with his Korean pop-up on Sundays from 5pm–10pm. His Sunday Supper series is called Junju, in honor of his mother’s hometown in South Korea. You’ll find his spin on traditional Korean barbecue, featuring classic banchan dishes with a seasonal bent. The abundant menu includes kimchi pancake, slow-cooked pork belly wraps, and marinated Kobe short rib (or whole grilled fish, spicy pork, and crispy heritage chicken). $45. Come by on Sunday April 19th, April 26th, and May 3rd. 3431 19th Street (at San Carlos)
Masak-Masak at Biondivino
Every Wednesday evening from 5pm–10pm, you can swing by this popular Russian Hill wine shop for a Malaysian pop-up from Emily Lai (she used to work in New York at Fatty Crab and Tailor). Flavor-packed dishes include roti, shrimp won ton noodle, and angry chicken with chile, curry leaves, haricot vert, black garlic, and rice. You can order them à la carte, and you know shop owner Ceri Smith will pour some great wines by the glass. There’s a communal table where, if you're lucky, you can nab a seat. And one more thing: if you bring your own container, you can get any dish to go as well. 1415 Green (at Polk)
The former chef de cuisine at Range (Rachel Silcocks) and sous chef Kristina Compton have started a pop-up series called Workshop. They popped up a couple times at Marla Bakery, and on Monday April 13th are going to be in Sausalito, just next to Fish. For $60 (tax included, but not tip), you will enjoy a prix-fixe menu that includes inventive Cali dishes like trout rillette with long pepper tonnato; asparagus, peas, and white sesame; and incredible-sounding duck wings with charred Dayri date, and green garlic; plus dessert from pastry chef Rodrigo Ormachea. For reservations, email Workshop for a spot from 6pm–10pm; walk-ins also welcome. Oh, and it’s cash only! 350 Harbor Drive, next to Fish, Sausalito.
