Some of the city's best hangover-fixing cocktails will be on deck here, along with a couple special menu additions, like spicy red chili pork stew with hard-boiled egg, black bean purée, pickled onions, shaved radish, cotija cheese, and tortilla chips, and a braised beef short rib sandwich with green chili aïoli, aged cheddar cheese, avocado, and pickled red cabbage on a torpedo roll. Just in case you have some relatives in town or feel like starting the year with your pinkie up, the genteel Campton Place is putting on a New Year’s Day brunch with an Indian accent; expect dishes like local Dungeness crab naan with pullet egg, potatoes, and fines herbes relish ($28), and some classics dishes too (hello, crab Benedict). The weather continues to be sunny and gorgeous, so odds are good you’ll be able to hang out poolside while dining hitting up the recovery brunch at Chambers from 10:30am-3pm. On the menu: Hangover Hash with dry-aged short rib pastrami, red bliss potato, cabbage, giardiniera, horseradish, rye toast, and two eggs sunnyside up, and the Eggs Royale with two sous vide eggs, crispy hash browns, cold-smoked salmon, mandarin hollandaise, caviar, chive, and dill. For a down-home brunch, the Front Porch will be slinging chicken and waffles (yes!), po’boys, their stoner stack (think fried chicken, bacon, cheddar, and sausage gravy on a biscuit), burgers, and other fave brunch items from 11am–3pm. Cocktails, check. 65 29th St., 415-695-7800.
This Mission spot (conveniently kitty corner to Dolores Park) will be open from 10:30am–4pm, serving their street food menu (gamja fries, okonomiyaki, stonepot) plus brunch dishes like a Hangtown Benedict on a housemade biscuit, an egg sandwich with kimchee relish, bourbon-challah French toast, and soju Bloody Marys and Micheladas. 499 Dolores St., 415-431-6268.
