Friday, Feb. 8th

Honestly, who doesn’t love beer? Kick off the bubbly and brewtastic 10 day SF Beer Week at the Opening Celebration. Be prepared to sample the offerings from over sixty-five California breweries, and if that isn’t enough to get your blood pumping, there will be live music and artisan food to boot. Be sure to check out all of Beer Week’s events, including ones in the North, East and South Bays as well. 6-10 p.m. $75/person @ The Concourse Exhibition Center, 620 7th St.

And in celebration of SF Beer Week, San Francisco Brewer’s Guild announced its modern twist on a historic West Coast ale: Green Death. What famed Chronicle writer Charles McCabe referred to as his “working breakfast,” Green Death will make its debut at the SF Beer Week Opening Celebration and will be available on draft from February 9-17 at a limited number of Bay Area bars.
