While everybody knows Wine Country is a haven for heavenly sips, it’s also home to gaggles of gripping art and galleries. With harvest on the wind down it’s the perfect time to explore some of our favorite spots, proving there’s a world beyond the wine.

From the two-dimensional sheep meadow that sparks a double take when you approach the 200-acre property to the placid lake and peacocks that prance about, the di Rosa Preserve, in Carneros, is a decidedly different experience. The Gatehouse Gallery features select pieces from the eclectic collection of Rene and Veronica di Rosa as well as rotating exhibits that enrapture. The full collection consists of over 2000 works that span all mediums from painting and sculpture to video. Mother Tina’s Car by David Best alone could derail your mind for hours.
