Attention sad sacks, Eeyores, and Ms. Deborah Downer: your time is up. A bevy of delightfully demented comedic minds storms the city for SF Sketchfest starting Thursday, ready to chip away at your seasonal affective disorder. The festival brings together the country's best and brightest stars and schleppers from the worlds of stand-up, sketch comedy, sitcoms, improv and films—including a special screening of The Naked Gun starring the late, great Leslie Nielsen at the Castro Theatre—featuring onstage interviews with director David Zucker and leading lady Priscilla Presley—proudly sponsored by 7x7.
Other highlights include some of San Francisco's most accomplished comedy performers at the city's most iconic venues, including Peaches Christ's screening of Welcome to the Dollhouse at the Castro with star Heather Matarazzo; a special installment of the acclaimed Porchlight storytelling series founded by Arline Klatte and SF author Beth Lisick; a star-packed lineup at Cal Academy of Sciences for the Thursday Nightlife party, with Chris Hardwick, Tig Notaro and more; award-winning comic actress Marga Gomez rocking the Mission—the list goes on! SF Sketchfest runs until February 10th. To get the entire schedule of this year's amazing comedy festival, visit sfsketchfest.com.
