In a city where gym clothes are acceptable streetwear, fashionable women can't get enough of the trend-turned-staple that is athleisure—activewear geared toward taking you from barre to bar in style. Now you can shop splashily printed leggings and sports bras to your hearts' content at Sweatbar's pop-up shop in Cow Hollow.
Based in San Francisco, The Sweatbar launched last spring to the joy of fashion-forward early adopters whose mesh-slashed leggings you now see bopping all over Russian Hill on weekends.
Stocking such brands as Koral, Michi, and Solow, the company, founded by Cheryl Baxter, takes aim at women who want bright colors, bold patterns, and sexy silhouettes that motivate them to work out...and who won't be shy about throwing a bomber jacket over their crop tops—designed with edgy day-to-night details—before heading out for a beer.
On the heels of a successful pop-up shop in Palo Alto last year, the Sweatbar has set up shop on Union Street this month to show off its selection of cute workout threads for style-conscious cyclists, yogis, tennis pros, and more. // The Sweatbar Pop-Up, through April 15, 11am to 6pm daily; 1895 Union St. (Cow Hollow), thesweatbar.com
