Heads up, ladies: There's a new way to get in your girl time while also satisfying your itch for adventure and acquiring some cool new skills.
Trail Mavens is a skills-based outdoor adventure group for awesome chicks who are “always looking for ways to be a little more bad ass.” Cool, yes?
Joining similar groups like She-Explores and Snowqueen, Trail Mavens seeks to empower and teach women outdoors(wo)manship with organized micro-adventures like camping in Big Sur and backpacking in Yosemite.
So, why no men? Trail Mavens co-leader Kristina Frost explains: “Women really benefit from getting outside together because we're able to have conversations that normally wouldn't occur in a co-ed group, and it gives us permission to be more vulnerable, supportive and feel more accepted.”
So, for women who are new to the whole hiking-with-a-heavy-backpack-thing, Trail Maven offers them a safe space to give it a try with a built-in boost from the group.
The idea is that you'll “walk away with finely-tuned skills, confidence, confidantes, and stories for days.” // For more information go to Trail Mavens, trailmavens.com.
