Iconic waterfront restaurants Waterbar and Epic Steak prepare sparkling holiday celebrations
24 October 2019
The sister restaurants, designed by famed restauranteur Pat Kuleto, are ideally located on the water's edge beneath the Bay Bridge, with extraordinary, unobstructed views of the city skyline and the bay.
Waterbar is known as San Francisco's foremost seafood restaurant, offering the most expansive selection of oysters on the West Coast, including its own proprietary oyster, the Golden Fog. Under the guidance of executive chef Parke Ulrich, Waterbar presents a daily menu of fresh-caught, sustainably raised fish, setting standards in the sourcing, preparation, and presentation of food from the sea.
Epic Steak, also led by chef Ulrich, is SF's only waterfront steakhouse. The menu goes beyond the traditional steakhouse experience, reflecting the diversity of the city with innovative cuisine that offers exciting preparations of steaks, meats, game, poultry, seafood, and lighter fare. Handmade cocktails, domestic and imported beers, and an expertly curated wine list complement the menu. Epic Steak also offers guests its private label wine, Epic Cabernet Sauvignon, currently in its 10th vintage, as well as its proprietary house beer developed in partnership with Barebottle Brewery, Epic Proportions.
This holiday season, Waterbar and Epic Steak have special menus and programming to put guests in the festive spirit. Continuing tradition with its annual gingerbread display, Waterbar's executive pastry chef, Erica Land, will create a replica of the famed Sutro Baths, which will debut after Thanksgiving. In celebration of New Year's Eve, the waterfront restaurants will host elegant four-course pre-fixe dinner menus with a complimentary Champagne toast, festive music, and the best viewing of the Ferry Building fireworks. Tickets are available through the websites beginning December 1, 2019.
