If you've never had the pleasure of being bathed in the ambient, textured beauty of Grouper's music, your chance is coming up in an ingenious mash-up of art and music at the Berkeley Art Museum this Friday, July 23.
The Portland, Oregon one-woman project by Liz Harris will bend and blend notes to the contours of the museum's space to create a one-off composition made of tape collage and live instrumentation accompanied by video projections. Her piece will "echo the movement of a downward-pulling current, lulling with the hiss and resonating pulse of watery sound and light." Cerebral.
Harpsichordist Eugene Petrushansky will open the night playing a harpsichord he hand-built for himself. Tickets are $5. Click here to get some.
