Nearly as old as San Francisco itself, the San Francisco SPCA has been here for animals since 1868. In celebration of its past and toasting to its future, they're throwing the entire community a party – and you’re invited!
The weekend of October 4th and 5th is when all the fun begins. On Friday, October 4th from 5-10 pm, attendees can enjoy a cocktail party in partnership with 7x7 (at Maddie's Adoption Center and Courtyard 250 Florida St.), featuring a hosted bar, DJ, food trucks, a t-shirt maker, a Barbary Coast exhibit in the courtyard, and free adoptions. The party starts at 5 pm, and all you have to do to get it is RSVP at 7x7sfspca.eventbrite.com.
On Saturday make a day of it at the SF SPCA's street fair (at Alabama St. between 15th and 16th) with carnival games, food trucks, a beer garden, bike valet, and entertainment including a performance by cast members from Steve Silver's Beach Blanket Babylon. Don’t forget to dress up your pooch and enter our notoriously creative costume contest for amazing prizes! The action starts at 11 am and doesn't end until 6 pm.
And if you're in the market for a new pup or kitty, good news: The SF SPCA will offer free adoptions all weekend, through October 6th. Visit sfspca.org/1868 for details.
