September is National Yoga month, with many free events and classes happening around the city. No matter if you are a pro at supta baddha konasana or are still struggling to touch your toes, now is the perfect time to try yoga for the first time, check out a fresh studio, or experiment with a new style. Here are some ways to get your yoga on—without spending a dime.
City View Yoga: The Sir Francis Drake hotel is offering a free morning yoga class every Tuesday from 7-8 am in the Starlight Room. Stretch, sweat and start your day off right with this vigorous practice suitable for all levels.
Athleta on Fillmore Street has teamed up with YogaWorks and other local teachers to offer a wide array of complimentary classes throughout the month of September. Wanderlust: Yoga in the City is a free traveling outdoor yoga event filled with live music, big name teachers and renowned speakers. Coming to San Francisco on Sunday, September 23, be sure to stop by the Little Marina Green from 12:30-4:30 pm to take part in the festivities. Be sure to register at the website, space is limited to the first 1,000 yogis.
One Week of Free Yoga: During the month of September and October, you can receive one week of free yoga from more than 1,800 participating yoga studios nationwide courtesy of the Yoga Health Foundation. Check out their website to find a studio near you and register for your yoga month card.
