Good cheer for all at Heath Ceramics' holiday market in Sausalito next weekend.

Deep breaths, lovers/consumers of artisan goodies. One of the most festive, maker-y events arrives next weekend: On Saturday and Sunday, December 4th and 5th, Heath Ceramics' Make Good Market will be held outside of the iconic brand's Sausalito showroom and factory. Let the responsible shopping begin.

As usual, the annual marketplace brings together the local maker community to sell their original goods, from clothing and jewelry to glassware, furniture, and more. Just a few Bay Area artisans featured: Aesthetic Union, Aplat, Julia Turner, Kirsten Muenster, Llane Alexis, Julie Cristello, and Fryn.

Naturally, there will be a special Heath area in which you can gobble up the latest bud vases, dinnerware, etcetera in holiday colors. And as usual, live demonstrations are part of the fun, i.e. wreath making, vase throwing, and letterpress printing.

Sparkle PSA: Hayes Valley welcomes sustainable fine jeweler Vrai to the 'hood.

It's not surprising that Vrai, a fine jewelry and engagement ring brand, chose to open its second U.S. showroom in the Bay Area. After all, its known for its lab-grown diamonds—and the technology for those gemstones comes from its SF owner, Diamond Foundry. (Yes, that's the one that Leonardo DiCaprio invested in.)

The intimate boutique is set up like a gallery, with the rings, bracelets, necklaces, and sparklers serving as the art on the walls. Reflecting Vrai's commitment to sustainability, the décor features recycled and natural materials a la repurposed concrete floors and American walnut furnishings with blackened-steel hardware. Our favorite part? The diamond bar, where clients can meet with staff and customize their own brilliant pieces.

Be loud and proud when buying your leak-proof undies at Knix's new SF store.

Canadian intimates import Knix recently opened a brick-and-mortar in Pac Heights. This marks U.S. store number two for the onetime e-only brand. For those not versed in the bajillion lingerie brands in the universe, Knix, which closed a $40 million round of funding in the spring, is known for the leakproof technology used in its panties—thongs to bikinis to boy shorts. They're otherwise known as period underwear, and women can't seem to get enough.

But the label and the store sell much more than seamless, non-bulky, ultra-absorbent undies: Bras, tanks, leggings, sleepwear, shapewear, activewear, and maternity are just a few of the categories available. No, not everything is leakproof, but check out the, um, waters for yourself.
