Don’t pack your skis or snowboard away quite yet. There are still a few days left of skiing in Tahoe. While we all long for powder or perfect groomers in the middle of winter, spring skiing has its own perks. For starters, you can leave your heavy gear at home and ski in a t-shirt, or bathing suit, if you’re really brave. And since the snow is melting, the ski areas make sure there are tons more parties and fun in the glaring sun to be had (see photos above).

Epic Squaw Valley is open through this weekend, and you’ll definitely have fun cruising the spring slopes in your sunnies and swimsuit. Build in some time for the High Camp Hot Tub and Pool, situated at 8,500 feet and accessible by a tram. Seriously, sipping a greyhound, while sitting in a hot tub a mile and a half from sea level is amazing. There’s also a pool party on Saturday, with DJs and drinks galore.

Squaw’s sister resort, Alpine Meadows, is open on weekends through April, weather permitting. They’ve got some freestyle ski and snowboard competitions happening, a spring music series and a fun laid back spring skiing scene.

So enjoy the last bit of winter. While you’re friends are all sitting in Dolores Park with a beer in their hands, you could be doing the same—on a mountain.
