With so many pioneers in small, craft distilling, SF is a natural fit for Thursday's Indy Spirits Expo. The lineup of liquors is long and varied, ranging from Boca Loca cachaca to Macchu Pisco-- and those are just the South American-style spirits. Handcrafted absinthe, plum-wine liqueur, Chicago-made aquavit, and plenty of good old gin, vodka, and whiskey will also abound. If you want to say hello to the hometown crowd, look for Alameda's Hangar One (we love their blueberry and chipotle vodkas), Petaluma's 3D Spirits (low-proof, tasty rums), and Novato's Square One (cucumber and botanical vodkas). Craft Distillers, the great SF distributor, will also have some smaller local brands, like Germain-Robin brandy. Best of all, the expo will be held in small, intimate Mighty, making it easier to chat with distillers and meet fellow drinkers than a trip to Cow Palace. And as if that wasn't enough, you can also get a deal on tickets from our friends at Thrillist-- they're offering half-off discounts, making entry $25 for general admission and $37.50 for VIP admission. Visit their website for more info.
The Indy Spirits Expo will be held Thursday, November 19th, 6-9 pm, at Mighty, 119 Utah St., Potrero Hill.
