Local outdoor gear company Alite Designs just launched the Fresh Air Club, which the Alite team created to motivate urban dwellers to get off the couch and explore the great outdoors. Exploration doesn't have to involve perspiration—activities range from hiking to cooking and from beginner to expert, so it's easy to earn your merit badges (seriously).

To get you started, Alite has compiled a list of local al fresco activities and group events coming up this spring and summer. In April and May, there will be workshops on knot tying, gardening, and gear knowledge 101. Stop by The Alite Outpost for more information on future events, like how to brew the perfect cup of java while camping, night-hikes, and more. A grand finale barn dance will take place in October 2015 for FAC members who have completed all of the activities and program guidelines—how's that for motivation?
