Look of the Week: Glitz and Glam for the 2nd Annual Salsa Festival on The Fillmore
14 July 2011
The 2nd Annual Salsa Festival on The Fillmore will take over 11 venues, with 12 live bands, this Friday and Saturday evening. Each night begins with a free outdoor concert and beginner salsa lesson, so no excuses! And even if you can't quite step to the rhythm, looking the part is half the battle. Here's a glitzy little number, perfect for an evening of the best SF salsa.
When it comes to dancing (and especially with latin and ballroom), the proper footwear is essential. It's important to keep your instep secure, so just any old ankle strap won't cut it. Try a t-strap heel with a little flex, and a small platform for comfort. For your dress, go for something sexy that you can really move in. This sequin wrap has a lot of flash and is short, but heavy enough to stay classy during a spin move. I also like this lip set because, depending on your mood, you can go for a bold red, or stick to a neutral lip -- both will look great with this outfit.
