Each week, we bring you our top picks for the best places to booze on the cheap in SF.
1. Invest in Good: The happy-hour titans of Drink Me magazine and City Dish are teaming up for a party at Art's Sushi and Tapas Lounge tomorrow, where attendees' first drink is $1 and drink specials will follow. They'll also have free "tastings" of Ploom, a complicated-to-describe product that involves tobacco, and numerous microfinance and other charities encouraging you to contribute to their projects. RSVP here. (Thursday, May 20, 7-10 pm, at Art's Sushi and Tapas Lounge, 2353 Lombard St., Marina.)
2. Appel & Frank's Chic Summer Soiree: Across town and on the other side of the money-spending equation, the Appel & Frank event at Regency will feature numerous clothing, accessories, and beauty vendors, as well as free cocktails and a gift bag. Admission is normally $10, but you can knock it down to $5 by using the code "7x7" when you buy a ticket here. (Thursday, May 20th, 5-9 pm, at the Sutter Room, Regency Center, 1270 Sutter St., Tenderloin.)
3. FolSoMa Microhood Event: The Bold Italic is hosting another event in a "microhood," their term for a small neighborhood on the rise in SF. This time, the corridor in question will be Folsom between 7th and 8th, with plenty of deals along the route. In the booze category, Bloodhound will have discounted Bulleit Bourbon cocktails, Triptych will offer free Firestone Walker beer and half-off wine, and City Beer Store will serve seasonal beer flights for $5. RSVP here so they can get a head count. (Tuesday, May 25th, 6-9 pm, Folsom St. between 7th and 8th Sts., SOMA.)
4. Blarney Stone Giants Happy Hour: Here's one for the fine people of the Outer Richmond: every time the Giants win a game this season, happy hour at the Blarney Stone goes until midnight. It's enough to make you want to kiss Tim Lincecum, or at least slip him an eighth. (Every day the Giants win, until midnight, at Blarney Stone, 5625 Geary Blvd., Outer Richmond.)
5. 15 Romolo Happy Hour: The cocktails at 15 Romolo may be upscale, but at happy hour, the prices take a dive. Drinkers can enjoy a $6 Pimm's Cup made with the spirit of their choice, and all draft beer, wine by the glass, and well drinks are $1 off. Just don't wander into any of the neighboring establishments and blow your savings on a stripper. (Daily, 5-7:30 pm, at 15 Romolo, 15 Romolo Place @ Broadway, North Beach.)
