Hosted by the San Francisco Council of District Merchants Association (SFCDMA), the November 2 Remember campaign, launched on November 1, 2016, took aim at encouraging San Franciscans to patronize small local businesses with a sweepstakes promising thousands of dollars in prizes. All SF shoppers had to do to enter was post a picture of their local retail experience with hashtag #november2remember by December 31, 2016. The goal: to sustain local jobs and build a stronger, healthier community.
Hundreds of hashtags, shares, and selfies later, the winners were announced at a special event inside the Mayor's office: Danielle Parker was awarded $1,200 in gift certificates to any of the Golden Gate Restaurant Association's participating restaurants; Judy Houng will be treated to a weekend stay at the Fairmont Hotel (valued at $2,000); and Sarina Seaton took home the grand prize—an electric bike from Electric Bicycle Super Store on Fillmore Street ($3,000).
Three SF retailers, Green Apple Books and Music, Bi-Rite Market, and Rare Device also won American Express gift certificates of $250 each.
Congrats to all the winners!
