Our Lady Peace @ The Independent

Consisting of Raine Maida, Duncan Coutts, and Steve Mazur, Our Lady Peace is one of the most successful bands still strumming and drumming away in Canada today. Their now ubiquitous name comes from a well-known poem penned by the late Mark Van Doren, "Our Lady Peace." It's suffice to say that Doren had little clue that, in the ensuing decades to come, a Canadian band would gravitate toward the poem, and later use it for a band that would eventually sell over 5 million albums worldwide, win four JUNO Awards, and ten Muchmusic Video Awards. The band's most recent album, Curve, was recorded with co-producer Jason Lader—whose catalogue includes impressive works like Jay-Z's 99 Problems—has gone on to garner critical acclaim and became one of their best-selling LPs to date. The group is coming southward and temporarily nesting their stage equipment at The Independent this Monday evening. Giraffage @ The Fillmore

The San Jose-born, now San Francisco-based producer Giraffage's dreamy synth-pop productions have helped pedestal him as one of electronic music's most refreshing, innovative, and influential producers currently populating the DJ landscape today. AKA Charlie Yin, he has amassed a loyal following from industry alums and everyday listeners alike. Raised by his two Taiwanese parents, both of which immigrated to East Bay, Yin has always described himself as a "musical nerd," opting to pen lyrics and produce acoustics instead of, say, swaying back and forward on playground swing set. Now he's taken that nuanced, idiosyncratic ability to create catchy choruses to both the stage and studio; taking a substantial leap forward with his forthcoming record Too Real, out now on Spotify. Eli and Fur @ Audio SF

Since their debut release in 2013, Eli and Fur—the singer-songwriter, DJ-producing female duo who have played such well-known venues like Coachella—have been perfecting a sound built around infectious melodies with deep, driving bass lines, sprinkled with their defiant, brutish vocals. And it's this unusual amalgamation of cathartic, emotional lyrics and electro-pop, dance-hall backed beats that's landed them praise from some of music's biggest names today. (Even Lady Gaga has hailed them as being "fantastically bold and fresh.") MitiS @ The Social Hall SF

MitiS has been fine-tuning and perfecting his piano-founded musings since he launched his solo career in early 2010. Since then, he's used his classical piano background to his advantage, curating and and self-producing live-sets that are known to pull more than a few heart strings. The woman needs no introduction, frankly—but we'll give her one. Currently she's on tour promoting her most current full-length LP effort, Native Invader—a fifteen-track iconoclastic deep-dive in politics, prose, and personal self-reflection.
