NatureBridge celebrated the spirit of John Muir and honored Board Chair Stephen Lockhart in a spectacular annual gala event. NatureBridge was able to raise more than $500,000 to support hands-on environmental field science education and provide $2 million annually in scholarships for children and teens. The six national parks used for education are Yosemite, Olympic, Golden Gate, Santa Monica Mountains, Channel Islands and Price William Forest. NatureBridge prides itself in dreaming big, because children deserve it. As Susan Smartt, NatureBridge president and CEO said, "there is no greater gift than science and nature."
The presenting sponsor, Wells Fargo, put forth a challengefor the event gala attendees to raise an additional $65,000 by June 30, 2013—with Wells Fargo matching any gift, all to create more scholarships.
