Since Spotify allows you to listen to the music while you are offline and Amazon and Comcast give you the chance to see shows when Wi-Fi is not available, now, it's time for Netflix to go unplugged.
According to Light Reading, by the end of the year Netflix will launch a feature that will allow users to download movies and TV shows to watch without an internet connection. The company is currently developing technology that will give customers access to their favorite programs while on a plane in the stratosphere or stuck in a car in the middle of nowhere.
"It's a natural progression for Netflix to want to have some of their content available for consumers to watch offline, and we've been hearing for months now that they are in fact going to roll something out soon," said Dan Rayburn, an analyst at Light Reading.
The company is neither confirming nor denying these rumors.
Because of copyright issues, not all the contents will be available offline, but Netflix original productions such as Orange is the New Black or House of Cards will be ready to watch anytime, anywhere.
