Lake Club, The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe adds an extraordinary new dimension to the Tahoe experience, providing resort guests with a unique, stunningly designed waterside venue and an accompanying host of amenities—think al fresco dining, leisure and water activities, and private access to the lake. This is an exclusive and elegant new setting for limitless summer activities on the water.

The Lake Club is open to Ritz-Carlton resort guests, who may reserve either a daytime package. The resort is now taking reservations for this summer season through the end of September.

With one of the world's most beautiful lakes as its backdrop, Lake Club was meticulously designed by renowned local architect Clare Walton, of Walton Architecture + Engineering—an award-winning, full-service architectural, interior design and engineering firm. The space was styled to fully optimize its proximity to the water's edge, and it is awash in natural light thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows. Lake Club's breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe and its distant snow-covered mountains blur the distinction between the indoors and out. Panoramic lake views are framed by a clean, minimal aesthetic, while vibrant turquoise contrasts with bold, white accents in homage to the natural surroundings. Earthy, warm textures are utilized throughout the space, including an extensive use of teak, walnut and ash wood as a counterbalance to the rugged mountain landscape. Unique art pieces that evoke a sense of place have been sourced from renowned artists, including Truckee-based Pat Blide and Marianne Rosenfeld of South Lake Tahoe.

Inspired by Lake Tahoe's natural environment, Design Workshop's plan for the landscape architecture makes verdant use of native plants and trees, including aspen, bearberry, Jeffrey pine, lupine, mountain mahogany, and sagebrush. The plantings are placed in tight linear patterns directly around the building to complement its modern geometric architecture; at the edges of the property, the plantings become more sinuous as they embrace the natural grandeur of the lake.

Plantings were specifically designed to respond to the changing of the seasons. Lupine, daisies, penstemon and columbine will bloom in spring, while yarrow, currant, and spirea accent the summer season. Fall will bring the magnificent yellow and orange foliage of the aspens, while winter will show off the contrast of white snow against the yellow grasses and the bright stems of the red twig dogwoods.

Throughout its construction, the Lake Club exceeded the stringent environmental and building standards for the area. These include reducing the building footprint from the previous structure by about 30 percent, improving scenic areas through lush landscape additions, improving water quality and frontage, and installing permeable pavers in the parking area to improve permeability during storms.

Combining stylish elegance with fun and functionality, the multi-level Lake Club features an indoor gathering area and bar, a ground-floor dining terrace, an upper-level dining deck, and an expansive lawn that extends all the way to the water's edge.

Guests can also expect elevated yet casual dining on the lakefront, including a rotating menu from the grill such as marinated skirt steak, grilled shrimp, grilled salmon, sausages, and veggie burgers. Seasonal salads and various desserts will also be available, in addition to morning breakfast items including whole fruit and granola. Adult guests can imbibe in refreshing cocktails from the full bar—anyone for a Mai Tahoe Tai or a Basil Bloom?

The Lake Club provides direct private beach access and a private boat pier, which is the embarkation point for a myriad of summer activities and water sports, including boating, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding. Activities offered include wave runners, luxury boat rentals, parasailing, waterskiing, wake surfing, charter fishing, and formula yacht and sailing charters on the Sierra Cloud.
