A notable film, which opens today, is Amazing Grace starring Albert Finney and Ioan Gruffudd. The story is based on the life of the man who wrote the famous hymn and takes place in England in the late 1700s during the peak of the slave-trade. My only problem with the film is that it doesn't have enough black people in it. If you wanna talk to and hear from two authors who've written about the film's story, then go to City Church on Sutter and Divisadero this Sunday night for the Amazing Grace open forum.
