In addition to checking out at l'opera and posing for pics with Marissa Mayer, noted sister and celebrity heiress Nicky Hilton came to town to promote her latest literary effort, 365 Style.
Her new style guide reveals tips and tricks she's learned — gleaned from years spent sitting in the front row at fashion shows and, presumably, gobbling up Barney's using her black AmEx. Although she was raised in Beverly Hills and at the Waldorf Towers, she's not a slave to labels.
“I think one of the biggest misconceptions is that you need this big bank account to dress beautifully,” Hilton, 30, tells NY Daily News. “Some of my most stylish friends never wear designer labels.”
Huh.
And with that, Hilton made an appearance last week at the San Francisco Union Square Neiman-Marcus (along with her gracious parents, Richard and Kathy) for a book signing party. There, she greeted fans, posed for pictures, and autographed copies of her book.
Later that night, Nicky joined a slew of San Francisco's well-to-do (including former mayor Willie Brown, Denise Hale, Alan Malouf, Beth Spotswood, Sonya Molodetskaya, Elisabeth Thieriot, Justin Fichelson, and a gaggle of other tony society members, all decked out to the nines) high atop a Pac Heights penthouse for the after party. Hilton mingled with guests and kindly posed for what seemed like an endless barrage of photos. And I, your author, took more than his fair share of hors d'ouevres while posing for pics in a super stylish bathroom.
A most fabulous time was had by all. Paris, however, was nowhere to be found. Alas.
