Nomica Opens in Castro
The team behind Sausalito's Sushi Ran opened a new San Francisco restaurant called Nomica this month. A nod to the surrounding neighborhoods (Noe-Mission-Castro), nomica also means drinking house in Japanese—an appropriate name for a restaurant featuring a slew of creative cocktails made with amawori, a traditional spirit from Okinawa. The menu includes several delicious small plates such as stuffed chicken wings, Dungeness crab rice donabe, and a whole chicken in bricohe. // Open Monday-Saturday, 5:30-11pm, 2223 Market St. (Castro), nomicasf.com
