Oakland Museum of California's annual White Elephant Sale comes galumphing back into town this weekend for its 58th year as the most memorable (and charitable) rummage sale in the Bay Area. We're talking 96,000-square-feet of vintage clothing, Asian collectibles, sporting goods, and other gems.

Hosted by the Oakland Museum Women's Board, the White Elephant Sale is a huge, two-day thrifting extravaganza held in a warehouse on the Oakland Estuary. The sale is divided into 17 departments filled with all sorts of quirky finds from vintage hats to a Japanese kimono allegedly gifted to Mayor George Christopher in the '60s.

Admission is free, a free shuttle service will be running to and from Fruitvale BART (8:30am-5pm), and best of all—all proceeds will be going to the Oakland Museum of California. Happy thrifting!
