The While Elephant sale is celebrating its 58th anniversary this weekend.
Oakland Museum's Massive White Elephant Sale Returns This Weekend
02 March 2017
Hosted by the Oakland Museum Women's Board, the White Elephant Sale is a huge, two-day thrifting extravaganza held in a warehouse on the Oakland Estuary. The sale is divided into 17 departments filled with all sorts of quirky finds from vintage hats to a Japanese kimono allegedly gifted to Mayor George Christopher in the '60s.
Admission is free, a free shuttle service will be running to and from Fruitvale BART (8:30am-5pm), and best of all—all proceeds will be going to the Oakland Museum of California. Happy thrifting!
