Like the fully rational, if not entirely relevant, fear of saber tooth tigers. LEVYdance uses ethnic Persian dance to explore visceral responses that may or may not impact our daily lives and choices.
Named after a form of bluesy Greek music, Rebetiko digs up the islands’ history in this Kunst-Stoff world premiere, choreographed by the acclaimed Yannis Adoniou. A wistful postmodern folk dance - complete with vocalist and shadow theater artist - it’s an innovative portrayal of sorrow and oppression via dance.
