Patti LuPone stages her musical memoir in SF, April 14
04 March
You must stay tuned for the show's program announcement, however you can expect it to be a showstopper (even without backup from the San Francisco Symphony.)
LuPone, of course, is well known and lauded for star turns as Madame Rose in the most recent Broadway revival of the Jule Styne-Stephen Sondheim-Arthur Laurents classic Gypsy and, of course, for her title role in the original Broadway production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Evita.
She has also appeared in David Mamet’s The Anarchist and Lincoln Center Theater’s production of the David Yazbeck-Jeffrey Lane musical Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, for which she was nominated for Tony,
LuPone is author of the New York Times bestseller Patti LuPone: A Memoir.
// 7:30pm Sunday, April 14 at Davies Symphony Hall, 201 Van Ness Ave. (Civic Center); tickets are available at sfsymphony.org.
