Powder Shaved Snow Opens
Taiwanese powder is quickly becoming the trendy new dessert around San Francisco. A delicious cross between ice cream and shaved ice, the pop-up-turned-brick-and-mortar Powder takes it one step further by using top-notch ingredients such as Straus Family Creamery and organic, locally sourced produce to produce flavors like black sesame, horchata, and matcha green tea. Minnie Bell's Soul Movement at Bon Marche
The recently shuttered Bon Marche space will play host to a slew of pop-ups in the coming months while the Mercer Restaurant Group tries to sell the space. First up is Minnie Bell's Soul Movement. Run by local chef Fernay McPherson, a Cocina member who was born and raised in the Fillmore and Western Addition, the menu is largely comprised of soul-food recipes that have been cooked in her family for generations. Hillside Supper Club x California Olive Ranch
Join Hillside Supper Club for a special four course meal with California Olive Ranch, who pioneered innovative methods of cultivating and harvesting olives in order to make affordable, high quality, extra virgin olive oil. A Fundraiser for Amatrice, Italy
Last month, the city of Amatrice was leveled by a devastating earthquake, and dozens of SF's best restaurants are rallying together this weekend to host a fundraiser. There'll be negronis, antipasti, pinsas, and of course, Amatrice's namesake dish pasta all'amatriciana.
