It's been three long years since San Francisco has seen comedian-actor Russell Brand on stage, but the hilarious character who had us dying of laughter in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him to the Greek is making a special one-night-only appearance at the Palace of Fine Arts on Nov. 29. Brand is bringing us a night of stand-up to benefit the David Lynch Foundation (yes, as in the infamous Twin Peaks David Lynch), an organization that provides stress-reducing meditation for at-risk youth, veterans, and the homeless.
Brand has been a supporter for many years and credits this type of meditation for helping him overcome his own addictions. So, no doubt, he'll be talking about his commitment to the foundation and his involvement over the years. He recently wrapped filming the movie adaptation of '80s musical Rock of Ages (scheduled for release next summer), so chances are we'll get that inside scoop about that experience. And if we're lucky, he'll indulge us with details about married life with Katy Perry, being a newly-christened vegan, and why he calls himself an S&M Willy Wonka.
Get tickets here.
$50-$75; Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 8 p.m.; Palace of Fine Arts, 3301 Lyon St., 888-233-0449, davidlynchfoundation.org
