Bookending this concert are two works inspired by the natural world: Beethoven’s unapologetically pictorial Sixth Symphony and Debussy’s roiling, swelling, sparkling oceanic triptych La Mer.

Head to Davies Symphony Hall’s First Tier lobby for a photography exhibit exploring the intersection of nature and art.

Works of art by young photographers from San Francisco nonprofit First Exposures connect the nature-inspired musical visions of Beethoven’s Pastoral symphony and Debussy’s La Mer to our own Bay Area landscape.
