San Francisco’s New Mission Movie Theater Opens Just in Time for Star Wars
19 October 2015
The newly-restored New Mission Theater will flicker to life this December, just in time for Star Wars.
After four years of planning and $10 million in renovations, the city’s most ornate movie palace will re-open, featuring five total screens equipped with Sony’s revolutionary 515DS dual-4K projectors, full dinner and cocktail service, lobby bicycle parking, and a strictly-enforced no-talking/no-texting policy. The theater will open its doors on December 17 with the year's most hotly-anticipated movie: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.
To celebrate, Alamo Drafthouse (the brand behind the new multiplex) is offering Star Wars fans several exclusive ticket options as part of this historic opening. Ticket buyers can choose from the following options:
All seating is assigned and can be reserved at time of ticket purchase online or in-person at the box office. Customers are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy Alamo’s exclusive pre-show entertainment of rare clips, videos, and shorts that are custom-curated to complement each feature film or event.
May the force be with you. See you on December 17th!
