Brett and Karen Thurber opened The New Wheel, an innovative ebike shop in Bernal Heights, this past March. The shop features a variety of pedal assist bikes to help out with the many San Francisco hills. The "optimistic bike shop" was founded in 2010 in North Beach and features a full bike maintenance shop for conventional bikes along with electric bikes. They even have their own charging station (fashioned to look like a gas pump) at their sidewalk entrance.
