Ah, the Super Bowl 50 statues. Those huge metal 50's placed around San Francisco earlier this year marking the forthcoming Super Bowl 50 were enjoyed by many a San Franciscan, although not in the manner intended by the National Football League.
As you surely remember, the statues were repeatedly, gleefully vandalized by people who, clearly, resented the corporate advertising in city parks. San Francisco State investigating confrontation over man's dreadlocks, latimes.com
San Francisco State University said Tuesday it was investigating an incident captured on video in which a black woman confronted a white man on campus for wearing dreadlocks. In a video posted on YouTube on Monday, the man and woman can be heard arguing in a hallway about his hair.
"You're saying that I can't have a hair style because of your culture? Why?" the man said.
"Because it's my culture," she said.

(AP) — A woman facing eviction from her Santa Rosa apartment poured gasoline over her body and set herself on fire in a blaze that nearly killed her and almost destroyed the four-unit property where she lived, fire officials said Monday. Fire investigator Cyndi Foreman said Melissa McMullin, 44, doused herself in gasoline, lay down on her bed and flicked a lighter igniting the Sunday evening blaze, the Santa Rosa Press Democrat reported.
