I caught up with visual designerShawn Carrico, while standing in line at the SF Street Food Festival, last Saturday in the Mission. His red bow-tie and wicked-sharp glasses immediately caught my attention but, while he's incorporated great details, his outfit is still refreshingly casual -- and thus, street food appropriate. Shawn said his favorite eats at the festival were the Penang Curry Bomb Bun and Sharbat from Azalina's. 

What he's wearing:  Thick rimmed Barton Perreira glasses from Eye Gotcha; Red Tommy Hilfigerbow-tie from Macy's; White button-down shirt from H&M; Grey Charles and 1/2 cardigan from Urban Outfitters; Uniqloskinny jeans; Vintage belt from father; Brown Cole Haan loafers from Thrift Town; Vintage tan leather bank deposit bag from Community Thrift. 

Sharp hair, sharp glasses, and a sharp red bow-tie.

I would never have known this clutch/man-bag was actually a vintage bank bag. 

There's nothing like a pair of perfectly lived-in (and loved) leather shoes. 

7 Style Questions for Shawn:

1. How would you describe your personal style?

Well thought-out casual. Casual doesn't have to mean cargo shorts and Adidas slippers, you know?

2. What's your favorite color to wear?

Fire engine red. It makes my light hair pop.

3. Where are your favorite places to shop? 

Unionmade for a complete outfit, Afterlife for vintage digs, and Bloomingdale's for accessories. 

4. Where do you go to get groomed?

Alisa at CODE Salon. She's a magician.

5. What's your most prized possession? 

I use a leather card holder from Alden. It still smells as beautiful as the day I bought it. 

6. Who do you think has great style?

Roger Sterling (Mad Men) is the best dressed man on television.

7. What's your biggest fashion pet peeve? 

Pajamas outside of the house. Boat shoes with socks. And for God's sake guys, know when to tuck your shirt in and put on a tie!
