Shop Talk: Japanese Clothier Opens on Fillmore, Everlane Goes Shoe Crazy + More
06 January 2017
Fillmore Street Welcomes 45R Boutique
How about a side of Japanese denim to go with your spicy tuna roll from Ten-Ichi? Coming right up with the recent opening of the 45R store on Fillmore Street (in the former Zinc Details space). The well-loved Japanese brand is known for men's and women's denim, and casual-slash-elegant clothing. Everything, made with high-quality original fabrics, is meticulously constructed. As for the overall vibe, think Tokyo cool with a shot of Zen—beautifully epitomized by our current obsession. The San Francisco store is the third US location for the Asian retailer; NYC and Honolulu are the others. // 1905 Fillmore St. (Pacific Heights), rby45rpm.com
Everlane Footwear Event on Saturday
Celebrate the new year in new Italian-made shoes, we always say. Thanks to Everlane's Worn-Once Shoe Event on Saturday, January 7 (at The Archery), this resolution is easy to keep. For the first time, the local brand will be selling gently worn women's shoes at 30 percent off. In fact, 70 percent of its returned loafers, oxfords and booties come back because of sizing, as in oops I ordered the wrong size. The upshot? The kicks have only the lightest signs of wear. (Fingers crossed these beauties will be available in size 6.) Shop more than 800 pairs from 11am to 6pm. RSVP here. // 470 Alabama St. (Mission), everlane.com
Christian Louboutin Launches Limited-Edition Nail Collection
Time to paint the town nails red, a fiery candy red to be precise. Crimson averse? Go with a lively lime green or glistening magenta. The highly pigmented trio is the star of Christian Louboutin's brand-new limited-edition mini collection—aka Loubichrome Nail Colour ($30 each). Each polish is infused with light-reflecting pigment pearls that give an edgy chrome-like finish. And the bottle design is over-the-top fabulous, too. Available at CL boutiques and online. // 29 Maiden Lane (Union Square), christianlouboutin.com
San Jose Gets Another H&M
A grand new H&M store will open the doors to its 24,000-square-foot space in San Jose's Eastridge Mall on Thursday, January 12. Translation: There are lots of Swedish fast-fashions to be had for the entire family: women, men and kids. And, hallelujah, there's also a mega accessories department. (Go ahead, bling out.) In other good news, the first 100 shoppers who queue up on opening day will receive H&M fashion passes valued between $10 and $300. The store opens at noon // 2200 East Ridge Loop (San Jose), hm.com
