Aritzia Scores Its Second Bay Area Store
Calling all East Bay fashionistas: Aritzia just opened a gargantuan store at Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek. Phew! No longer do you have to hit the city (Westfield Centre) in order to refresh your wardrobe with on-trend jeans, dresses and sweaters from your favorite Canadian retailer. Did we mention the light-filled, cement-floored boutique is 8,000 square feet? Ruh roh, you're in trouble. // 1275 Broadway Plaza (Walnut Creek), aritzia.com
American Giant Tries Its Hand at (Nylon) Outerwear
May be time to give that "greatest hoodie ever made" a break. You see, local maker American Giant just introduced a new line of outerwear for men and women. The two key pieces, the Coach's Jacket ($89) and Anorak ($79), are made of, gasp!, nylon and come in black, blue and pine. Both are wind- and water-resistant. Now? Just pray for rain. // americangiant.com
Blu Kicks Goes Mini
We've been fans of this mother-son shoe biz (with a charitable component) for a while now—but Blu Kicks' just-launched Kids Collection is almost more adorable than we can bear. Made for kids three to seven (ish), the shrunken-down kicks with self-adhesive straps come in three fun and colorful prints: Paradise Floral (pictured above), Panama Stripe (ahoy, matey) and Bali Red. Your mini-me will go mad for the fish and ocean graphic that graces the soles. // $39, bluckicks.com
