It's the week we've all been waiting for — feasts, leftovers, and epic afternoon naps. The South Bay has you covered with a few delicious Thanksgiving meals out (if you're still scrambling for plans), plus a Santa Cruz Beer Tour that will have you feeling all kinds of jolly this weekend.
Let's start with those Turkey Day plans. The Fairmont in San Jose has multiple options for your dining out, or take-home pleasure. They have two buffet lunch/brunch meals on offer — one, in the Imperial Ballroom features a decadent spread of cheeses, charcuterie, honey-baked ham, and a swath of traditional brunch dishes; the other, in the Fountain Restaurant, includes California-centric starters like nigiri sushi and maple-glazed Japanese pumpkin. Both feature roast turkey and roast prime rib. Prefer to do your feasting in the comfort of your own home? The hotel is also offering "Holiday Meals at Home," featuring a whole roast turkey or roasted beef rib eye, with salad, mashed potatoes, vegetables, rolls, and a pie included. Check out full menu options here.
Not feeling the buffet experience? Left Bank Brasserieand LB Steak are both offering four-course, prix fixe Thanksgiving menus from noon until 8pm (the menus are available at both restaurants' Menlo Park and Satana Row locations). LB Steak is offering a turkey-centered menu with chestnut stuffing and roasted brussels sprouts, and a rib roast menu with creamed spinach, mashed potatoes, and horseradish. Both entrees include soup, salad, and pumpkin pecan tart. Left Bank diners get a choice between turkey, pork, and risotto, with butternut squash soup, persimmon salad, and pumpkin pie accompanying all entress.
Having recovered from Thursday's eating fest, keep the celebratory mood going with a Santa Cruz-centric adventure from Bay Area Ale Trails on Saturday, November 29. The six-and-a-half hour tour includes stops at a number of top Santa Cruz breweries and beer bars (including some of our favorites), round-trip transporation from the Mountain View CalTrain station, lunch, snacks, and trivia.
