If you are a true lover of fashion, you’ll want to check out some of the lectures, workshops and parties being hosted by the SF-based Arts of Fashion Foundation from Oct. 25 to 29 at venues around the city. This under-the-radar nonprofit organization, founded by Paris-born Nathalie Doucet, has serious international fashion cred for helping to launch the careers of innovative young designers, particularly with its annual international student fashion competition, which culminates in a two-hour fashion show at the SFMOMA on Oct. 29. We've recently previewed a cross-section of the 50-plus entries submitted from design students around the globe at the foundation’s Potrero Hill headquarters, which quickly revealed that this will not be your average cut-and-sew craft show, but the actual real deal.

For local models looking to walk the runway and gain exposure in front of a host of industry professionals—from the directors of Parsons The New School of Design’s design programs to Martin Margiela’s creative assistant—the foundation is hosting last-minute casting calls today through Sunday (Oct. 26). See below for the details:


What: Model call for females 5’ 7” or taller and size 0 or 2 (Hip measurement of 36” maximum).

When/Where: Thursday through Sunday. One-hour casting/fitting at 635 Tennessee Ave., suite 302. Chosen models will be asked to return for additional fittings Saturday through Monday.

Compensation: $50 + tickets to the after-party and movie screening.
