On July 9 an invite-only crowd gathered at the Embarcadero Center Cinema for a private screening of Unsettled, a film by former MTV news producer and some-time SF resident Adam Hootnick, about six Israeli twenty-somethings coping with the historic 2005 evacuation of Israeli settlements in the Gaza Strip. Post-show, Hootnick graciously entertained questions from the audience, but was eager to lead a procession to nearby Sens Restaurant for the after-party hosted by the San Francisco Sentry and the SF Arts Fund. There, against a dramatic backdrop featuring the Bay Bridge, guests sipped on Moet, nibbled on hazelnut tarts and tried to steal the director's attention, if only for one brief congratulatory moment.
