If you're hankering to joyride a racetrack, head to Sonoma’s Infineon Raceway this Saturday, where they're hosting an afternoon and evening of racing, wine and food to benefit the N.A.S.A non-profit Car Control Clinic for teen drivers. There are racing activities all day and you’ll even get to take a ride around the track with a professional driver.
Beginning at 11 a.m., all ticket holders to this N.A.S.A sanctioned party will take turns in the passenger seat of a race car as it flies around the track, watch qualifying races, tour the pro-shop and mingle with racers and crew teams. You’ll also be able to take a turn in a Race Simulator, which is regularly used by pros like Scott Pruett, and will be set up to handle and sound like a real E30 race car.
The Trefethen family (among others) is bringing the wine and lunch and dinner will be prepared by Chef Gonzlo, former Grill Chef of The Rutherford Grill in Napa Valley. If you’d rather just watch, the BMW hospitality tent is right in the middle of all the action so you won’t miss a beat or risk loosing your lunch. You'll also get a t-shirt and other swag to commemorate the occasion.
Tickets are $99. Mention 7x7 and get yours for $69
