London's Tastemaker Dinner Series Makes American Debut in San Francisco This Month

Since its launch in London in 2004, the Tastemaker Collective has built a repertoire of high-profile culinary events around the world. On September 26th, the much-hyped series will finally arrive in the U.S., with its inaugural American event in San Francisco.
Our city was a no-brainer, according to Justin Clarke, Tastemaker's global head of culinary. "San Francisco is the gateway of culinary culture in the U.S., and Tastemaker celebrates this by bringing chefs from Paris, London, and Hong Kong to highlight the diverse global influences that make up the city's unique gastronomic identity," he said.
Through October 1st, teams of local and international superstar chefs will prepare dynamic dinner party experiences, accessible for the price of a ticket, at some of the city's very best restaurants.
The week begins with a bang at Coi, where Michelin two-starred chef Daniel Patterson teams up yet again with frequent collaborator Mandy Aftel, the Berkeley-based perfumer, for a seven-course seafood dinner ($350 per person) expertly paired with succulent wines; guests will take away autographed copies of their duo's book, The Art of Flavor. On Wednesday evening, look for a fusion of Mexican and French cuisines—concocted by Gabriela Cámara (Cala), Juan Arbalaez (of Paris' Nubé), and Rafael Gomes (of Paris' Grand Cœur)—in a multi-course meal ($120-165 per person) dedicated to sustainability at Cala.
Dinners throughout the rest of week bring surprises including an izakaya-style meal prepared by Evan Rich and Hong Kong chef Matt Abergel ($250 per person, at Rich Table) and an epic supperclub with DJs and robust bites at Fort Mason ($48 per person). This Saturday night event will bring the energy with cooking demo, mixologists, bartender battles, live music and dancing—and of course food from the likes of Dominique Crenn.
Crenn also finishes off the week with a Sunday supper at Atelier Crenn along with Michelin one-star chefSven Chartier (of Saturne in Paris). With just eight tables, this one is naturally already sold out.
Tastemaker Collective will be launching across the U.S. with festivals in American 10 cities in 2018, and has plans to return to San Francisco for annual deliciousness.
