We're not sure how Tesla managed to stay out of San Francisco this long.
But alas, everybody's favorite electric sports car to drool over is wheeling into SF this week with the opening of its first city showroom, at the corner of Van Ness and O'Farrell, this Saturday, August 12th.
Where once were Bentleys and Lamborghinis, Tesla's splashy new location will be the company's largest to date, at 65,000 square feet, the SF Business Journal reports. The showroom will display Tesla's Model S, Model X, and planned Model 3; the space will also serve as something of an educational center for electric car technology and will house a service center for Tesla owners. This marks the 19th service center for Teslas in the state of California, but only the first in SF.
Will you pop in for a peek?
