Impress your guests with an epic Thanksgiving meal bon vivant, without stepping foot in the kitchen.
There are those select few cuisiniers who take pride in laboriously creating an extravagant meal from scratch, spending hours on end in the kitchen the entire week before Thanksgiving, and then there are the rest of us. For the latter, here's a little secret: there are a barrage of gourmet markets, six in fact, that will make your Thanksgiving effortless, and just as impressive. Just as you can, with the flurry of your fingers, order most things with an app, so can you make an entire turkey dinner appear; though you will need to order in advance.
Bi-Rite Market: Friendsgiving in a Box
If you know anything about Bi-Rite, you know they take high-quality prepared foods very seriously. It should come as no surprise that their Thanksgiving feast—Friendsgiving in a Box—offers delightful versions of the classics chock full of organic ingredients. Friendsgiving can be ordered to fit tables of between four and 14 people ($150-$375) with turkey options that range from choice cuts to a large, fully cooked bird. If you plan to keep your Thanksgiving meat-free, Bi-Rite also offers a vegetarian Friendsgiving with stuffed squash as the star ($150 for 4-6 people). Most dishes, including holiday pies and pumpkin cheesecake ice cream, can also be ordered a la carte. They'll even provide you with a lovely holiday bouquet to decorate the table. Pre-orders are available now for in-store pick up beginning on November 17th. // 3639 18th St (Mission) and 550 Divisadero St (NoPa), shop.birite.com
Gus's Community Market: Choose Your Feasting Style
At Gus's Community Market, it's up to you how much work you want to put in. Gus's offers three separate holiday feasts ($149.99-199.99) with your choice of a whole Diestel Ranch roasted turkey, turkey hindquarters only or baked Beelers ham, and 3-4 pounds of sides including roasted garlic mashed potatoes, candied yams and green bean almondine. Feasts feed between eight and 12 people. If you'd like to do some cooking but want to be able to join your guests when they arrive, you can also order Gus's main courses including turkey, New York strip loin and roasted leg of lamb, fixin's, and/or dessert a la carte. Add some Varda Vineyards red wine and a cheese platter and you've got yourself a holiday! All orders require 48 hours advance notice and can be picked up or delivered to your home for a $40 fee (additional charges apply for deliveries outside of San Francisco). Salumeria: Dinner For the Connoisseur
Though this artisan deli and larder hasn't yet made their traditional Thanksgiving dinner available for pre-order, they will, and when they do, you'll be ready. Everything but the pre-brined turkey in Salumeria's meal for 4-6 people is ready to serve, including buttermilk whipped potatoes, pretzel bread pudding, roasted carrots, turkey giblet gravy, and cranberry and quince chutney. For dessert, take home one of a selection of pies from Black Jet Bakery. The cut-off for pre-order will be sometime mid-month so keep an eye out for their Thanksgiving dinner online. All orders must be picked up on Thanksgiving day. // 3000 20th St (Mission), salumeriasf.com

Falletti Foods and Delessio Market and Bakery: Two-in-One Door Deal
Family owned and operated since 1956, Falletti Foods is still a neighborhood go-to. But walk through their doors and you'll find not only the market's high-quality, responsibly raised whole ingredients but an open entrance to their neighbor Delessio Market and Bakery where prepared foods reign. Together, this two-for-one shop is the perfect spot for Thanksgiving preparations. While Falletti's uncooked turkeys may sell out and should be ordered in advance (in store or via phone at 415-626-4400), Delessio's has you covered for last minute sides, salads, pastries and other baked goods. // 308 Broderick St (NoPa), fallettifoods.com
