Sausalito restaurant Poggio is once again serving a week of bollito misto, the traditional Italian boiled-meat dinner. The heated cart rolls from table to table and you choose from a selection of seven slow-simmered meats, from cotechino sausage to brisket, chicken and oxtail, all served with traditional condiments and potato puree for $19 per person. 3. Catalan Crudité
Fancy a road trip? On Monday, February 9, Napa’s lauded vegetarian restaurant, Ubuntu, will be preparing Spanish-style calcots, spring onions grilled on terra cotta roof tiles in the Catalan tradition. The Ubuntu garden is one of very few places in the states where these special onions are grown—sample them, topped with romesco sauce, at this one-night-only feast. 4. Message in a Bottle
Been wondering about the history of India Pale Ale? Curious about the origins of Imperial Stout? In that case, the beer history night with Magnolia Pub’s Dave McLean, hosted by 18 Reasons, is for you. 5. Suds Supper
Celebrate SF Beer Week in style at the Beer and Nosh dinner at Scala’s Bistro on February 11. The five-course meal, cooked by Scala’s new chef Jen Biesty, will showcase beers from six different breweries, and all proceeds from the $100 all-inclusive dinner will benefit the San Francisco Food Bank. 6. Chef Rumble
Get ready for a showdown and a throwdown. On February 11, Macy’s Battle of the Chefs returns. Chefs Hoss Zaré (of Zaré at Fly Trap) and Jonnatan Leiva (of Jack Falstaff) will go head-t0-head in an hour long cooking competition à la Iron Chef, complete with mystery ingredient. 7x7’s own Jessica Battilana will be one of three judges. 7. Nopa Does Nopales
We have it on good authority that this is the week that the long-awaited second project from Nopa, the aptly named Nopalita, opens! The tiny Mexican kitchen will serve lunch, dinner, weekend brunch and take-out too. Swing by 306 Broderick St. and check it out—parking in the Faletti's lot is free!
