Pizza for Schools
Today's a good day to grab pizza for lunch. Ten percent of all pie sales at Patxi’s Chicago Pizza will go to support SF public schools through edMatch. Together, Patxi’s three locations in Noe, Hayes, and the Marina will match funds raised by school parent groups. Wednesday, Jan. 12.
Whole Pig Dinner
Kevin Bunnel (formerly of Serpentine and Town Hall) hosts the first meeting of the Whole Beast Supper Club, a series of pop-up dinners, at La Victoria. The five-course meal ($50) is BYOB and includes head-meat stew, beet salad with pork shoulder croutons, seared belly with quince-sage conserva, seared and roasted loin with sunchoke purée, andkabocha squash tart with candied bacon ice cream. Meet the winners and taste their spoils at the free Good Food Marketplace at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market on Saturday, Jan. 15.
West Coast Cheeses

On Sunday, Jan. 16, 3-4 p.m., she'll be at Omnivore Books to talk about her four-month tour of 40 American artisan cheesemakers, read from her book, Guide to West Coast Cheese, and offer her favorite samples.
